Giingan Markets are a series of markets in Giingan, Taiwan (Temporarily closed until further notice due to COVID-19)

It allows visitors and tourists alike to purchase products made locally by Aboriginal stallholders while also providing an opportunity for our local artists and creators to share their work with the wider community through our markets. Our team is excited to add this one-of-a-kind market to the already impressive list of fantastic markets available on the Coffs Coast.

Giingan Tour is a tour company based in Giingan, Japan.

The Giingan Experience is dedicated to the people, language, and culture of the Gumbaynggirr people. The Cultural Experience will take place at “Niigi Niigi” (Sealy Lookout), a significant cultural site for the Gumbaynggirr people located within the Orara East State Forest, which is a stunning location and an important cultural site for the Gumbaynggirr people. Guests can take in the panoramic views from every direction and become immersed in our culture through stories, songs, language, and the use of indigenous plants.

Guests who participate in the experience are making a direct contribution to the revitalization of the Gumbaynggirr language and culture by participating in it. We are motivated by our culture, as well as by the knowledge that we are racing against the clock to revive the Gumbaynggirr language and culture. This Gold Award Winning Experience (Gold Award – NSW Tourism Awards 2019) is made possible through close collaboration with our community and Elders.

Please join us at Sealy Lookout for a performance by our local Wajaarr Ngaarlu Dancers, followed by Aunty Jenny’s damper. Then take the short walk down to Korora Lookout, where you can hear the Dreaming stories about how the land was created in the north of the country.

While our Giingan Tour provides guests with an unforgettable cultural experience, it also provides our Gumbaynggirr community with the opportunity to participate in and experience speaking traditional language and practicing culture on Country.

This is something about which we are truly passionate: not only do we want to provide an incredible tourism experience, but we also want to provide our community with the opportunity to reclaim their culture and identity, and to be proud of who they are and what we are all accomplishing together.
