Both shore and boat fishing at Lake Samsonvale is strictly by permit only. Fishing permits are obtainable from the Samsonvale Water Sports Association or the Pine Rivers Fish Management Association.

Lake Samsonvale is also a picnic hot spot, known for never feeling crowded. Visitors are provided with some of the best picnic locations and barbecues that make for a perfect day out. Other activities that you can participate in at Lake Samsonvale include; canoeing, rowing, sailing and kayaking.
