There is a lot to take in at the Nash Gallery and Cafe. In the historic Lars Anderson house on Esk’s main street, we combine our two passions: hand-throwing crystalline pottery and cooking delicious food flavored with fresh herbs and locally sourced ingredients. So come on in, stay a while, and see what One Garden Essences has to offer in the way of original artwork, handcrafted gifts, and the special healing power of flowers.
For breakfast, lunch, and sweets in between, we’re available. Special dietary requirements can also be accommodated. In addition, we have a seasonal menu that is always changing. Our lawns welcome pets and have easy access for people with disabilities at Nash Gallery and Cafe.
For more information about Esk, visit their website. We’re excited to serve South East Queensland’s most divine coffee from master roasters Elixir, as well as specialty teas at this exciting part of the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail and Tourist Drive, which is rich in history. Particularly popular is our French Earl Grey.
Only an hour away from Brisbane, we’re the ideal pit stop on your way to the Somerset wine region. As a recommended tourist destination, we appeared on Channel 7’s lifestyle show The Great South East.
Nash Gallery and Cafe invites you to draw on our tables and take advantage of our services.
Lars Andersen, a Danish immigrant who was 24 when he arrived in Australia from his native Denmark, built this historic home. Lars quickly established himself as a builder in Esk, where his brother Jens was already employed as a blacksmith. He had eight children with Janet Dunlop, with whom he was married. He’s remembered as a great boss, fair and down-to-earth, who liked to celebrate with his employees at house picnics in the front gardens.

Several local and regional artists use our gallery space. Nash Gallery owner Gavin Nash is primarily represented by his work, which is on view here. A notable Western Australian artist and brother of Gavin Nash, Wesley Nash, is also featured. Artists from the Somerset region and beyond can be found in the ‘Gallery’ section.
TEA FROM US
“Coffee is not just a drink to get you through the day, it’s a way of life,” say the master roasters at Elixir Coffee. A great cup of coffee can set you up for a great day or make your evening complete. Coffee, like fine wine, is a natural product that must be cared for and nurtured throughout the production process. To ensure your coffee drinking experience is perfect, we source, roast, and blend Elixir Coffee beans at every stage of the process – from planting to drinking.
Coffee from Rainforest Alliance – Our Peruvian organic single origin coffee. The acidity is medium, and the brightness is sparkling. The body is medium, with flavors of herbaceous licorice and soft chocolate. The climate, altitude, and soil microclimate all work together to create a unique flavor profile unique to Peru.
