OUTBACK SHEILAS TELL YA LIES ABOUT FLIES, PIES, AND BINDI EYES!

Mel and Susie will be staying at the Opal Caravan Park with us from Easter to October!!

Melanie Hall and Susan Carcary are both Australian champion poets who perform their original serious and humorous verse in solo and duo performance. Their two-woman show incorporates comedy, comic verse, ripper yarns, a little singing, and a lot of Queensland bull. Their collaboration pays homage to Paterson and Lawson’s great works.

When children join them on stage, it is clear that they are passionate about teaching children about our heritage. Mel and Susie promise a family-friendly, amusing look at modern Australian life.

Mel and Susie have just returned from a tour of Australia’s bush poetry to an international audience. The people of Slovakia were astounded!

They performed 20 shows at the 2014 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and were paid by the Scots! With real cash!

When you visit Lightning Ridge, there are numerous things to see and do.

BORE BATHS IN ARTESIAN

The Artesian Bore Baths are only 200 meters away from the park. They are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and are completely free to use.

Showers, restrooms, and change rooms are available, and the area is well-lit at night.

The Natural Mineral water comes from 1km beneath your feet and flows continuously through the two pools, keeping the temperature stable at 39°C. Stay in the water for short periods of time at a time. Before you go back in, get out and take a cold shower.

Soaking in these waters is said to help relieve aches and pains.

Enjoy a midnight soak under the stars and watch the steam gently rise into the night, or watch the sun rise in the early morning while warming up in the pools!

In any case, it will be an experience you will never forget!!
