Walkabout Cultural Adventures

Walkabout Cultural Adventures will take you on a tour of the Daintree Rainforest.

In the Port Douglas Daintree region, go on a full or half-day cultural adventure at Walkabout Cultural Adventures. Aboriginal guides explore Kuku Yalanji country, the only location where two world heritage sites, the Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef, meet, and share the people’s cultural connection to their land. Learn about the environment, as well as various bush foods and medicines. Enjoy some seasonal bush tucker while learning about our Australian Aboriginal people’s history, culture, and traditions.

We operate each tour with a minimum of 2 passengers and a maximum of 11 passengers in order to provide more personalized tours.

Walkabout Cultural Adventures is owned and operated entirely by Aboriginal people.

Cultural Adventures on the Move

Walkabout Cultural Adventures is an Aboriginal cultural tour company based in Port Douglas, Daintree, Australia.

Juan Walker, the owner of Walkabout Cultural Adventures, has been guiding in the Port Douglas Daintree region for 19 years. He takes pride in providing excellent service, information, and guidance.

Tours provide guests with the opportunity to participate in a truly unique cultural and interpretive soft adventure tour that is small and personalized.

His company offers one-of-a-kind cultural tours within Kuku Yalanji country that focus on Aboriginal culture, significant sites, environmental information, and local tourist attractions, all while providing an educational and interpersonal Aboriginal cultural experience.

Juan’s ambition is to grow the business and provide jobs for local Aboriginals who are proud to share their land and culture. This ambition has already proven feasible, as evidenced by his recent investments in a second, larger tour vehicle and the hiring of a third Aboriginal guide.
